15 days Vietnam Motorbike Tour to Northwest

Day1:Ha Noi – Mau Son: Distance: 180km/ Duration: 5h

After a hearty breakfast we saddle up and make the break our Vietnam motorbike tour out of the city limits and the lowlands and plains of the Red River Delta. We continue our Northern Vietnam motorbike tours pass through clusters of limestone as we head out north-east before leaving the main road and climb up to the peak of Mau Son mountain. A winding road leads us to the summit and at over 1,500 metres altitude we enjoy fantastic views out over China and down towards Ha Long Bay during our Vietnam motorcycle tours. Day 2. Mau Son – Ban Gioc waterfall: Distance :200 km / Duration: 5h

Our north Vietnam motorbike tour will drop down from the heights of Mau Son we strike directly north, skirting the border city of Lang Son, visiting the Dong Dang ‘Friendship Gate’ on the Chinese border, then we join the legendary ‘Highway 4′ where the Viet Minh forces carried out numerous raids over uncountable passes in this remote border region. After the lunch we ride up amazing passes and peaceful villages.

Ban Gioc Waterfall: In this closed off region, where thousands of limestone monoliths loom high above paddy fields tended by Nung, Tay and Green Hmong peoples, you will find sealed, winding roads which make for wonderful Vietnam motorbike ride. The entire area rewards those willing to take the time to explore and share life with its people. Over ninght in Ban Gioc Waterfall!

Day 3: Ban Gioc- Ba Be: Distance 190 km/ 5h

We will come back to Quang Uyen by another road, drive along China border and see another authentic landscape along the road!

Our northern Vietnam motorbike tour will move south-west from Cao Bang and breach several passes on route in an area hosting huge mountain scenery. The Cao Bac Pass offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. in the afternoon we arrive at Ba Be Lake in the heart of a National Park. Today is one of our most favorite off road Vietnam motorbike tour. Overnight with a family in a Tay minority stilt house on the shores of the lake.

 Ba Be Lake: This pristine mountain lake, arguably Vietnam’s most beautiful lake, is situated 240 kilometers north of Hanoi. Surrounded by primary jungle and limestone cliffs, the surrounding areas are inhabited principally by Thai and Hmong peoples.

Day 4: Ba Bể – Bao Lac: Distance :150km/ Duration 5 h

to have time for the boat trip in Ba Be lake, We should start the day later so after breakfast, we start getting  boat trip at around 8.am . Today is exactly the best off road Vietnam motorbike tour. Just after 20km from Bao Lac we turn to narrow and bumpy road with breathtaking view of terrace rice paddies. Especially, we have to cross few rivers instead of riding on some bamboo bridges. Finishing the memorable riding day with lunch in a peaceful village of  the Tay people nearby Ba be lake .

Day 5: Bao Lac – Dong Van – Lung Cu: : Distance 140km/ Duration 5h

Today we will have one of the best Vietnam motorbike tours. The ride today is mostly on small challenging mountain roads (but incredibly beautiful) on the land of colorful hill-tribes. We will be on some of most beautiful passes in Vietnam such as the Ma Pi Leng, ‘Heaven Gate’ pass . Here is also good chance to learn and experience the colorful culture of local tribes. It is inspiring to see how they survive as they manage live in the rocks. When we reach town we will have some extra time to wonder the ancient streets lined with H’mong homes of clay bricks and tiles roofs built centuries ago.

Day 6: Dong Van – Ha Giang: Distance 160 km/ Distance5h

This motorcycle tour from the Dong Van Rock Plateau to Ha Giang is another highlight of the trip

because of incredibly imposing scenery. In addition, the landscape is completely different from the days before. we will enjoy riding on small challenging mountain roads with a amazing view and plenty of colorful hill-tribes .we can stop to take picture every meters of the way, beside we can take some visits to visit some of the local hill tribes such as The Lo Lo or Hmong people to learn more about their culture and the difficulties of their lifetime. It should be the best motorbike tour in North Vietnam.

Day 7: Ha Giang – Xín Man: Distance:180/ 5h

This motorbike tour to HaGiang is one of the big days of the full Northern Vietnam Tour by Motorbike. We should start the motorcycle tour to Ha Giang earlier because the road today is quiet and bumpy with picturesque landscape, we can not go fast and have to stop a lot for pictures. we keep riding on a narrow and winding road but the terrace fields along the way could be the most beautiful in north Vietnam. And after that .we’ll try the difficult off-road motorbike ride to Hoang Su Phi where is famous for beautiful terrace rice fields and bumpy rugged roads.  The route  promises to give you a lot of excitement and delight

Day 8: Xin Man – Bac Ha – Sapa: Distance 180 km/ 5h

Today we head straight towards the North-western mountain where the main Fanxipan Mountain range dominates the road until Sapa. The road is very smooth with a good view of green mountain, rice fields between lovely villages of the hill tribes. After a short break in Lao Cai to see Chinese border, we will have very beautiful motorbike ride up to Sapa. This motorbike ride is up and up till 1.600 meters above sea level. It offers a great  view of mountain with terrace fields and it must be one of the best motorbike ride in North Vietnam.

Day 9: Sapa: Relaxing in SaPa.

Sa Pa is lovely little town located at the height of 1600 meters above the sea, surrounded by amazing valley with the villages of minorities, we can either take it easy in Sa Pa town, or take another SaPa motorbike tour along Muong Hoa valley-one of the most beautiful valley in northern Vietnam, or down deep into the valley to see more interesting local people. All options are dominated by the crest of the enormous Fansipan mountain range. The entire region is populated by Hmong, Giay, Tay and Dao people.

Vietnam Motorbike Tour’s suggestion is to take a short walk to Ham Rong – a highest peak of the town where you can get full view of Sa Pa and then take a good body massage.

Day 10: Sapa – Sin Ho: Distance 131km/ 4h

Another short motorbike ride to Sapa but it is also the highlight of the Northern Vietnam motorcycle tour. The motorbike ride is up and up and up to the “heaven gate”- the border between Lao Cai and Lai Chau, it is about 2000 meters above sea level. From here we can have great photo album of green mountain with blue sky. The view is difference but still breathtaking on every meter path.

Day 11:Xin Ho – Dien Bien: Distance150km/ 4h

After breakfast  in the city, get back on the bikes again and keep the Northwest Vietnam motorcycle tour to Dien Bien. We will be in Dien Bien at 2.00 PM.
We will spend a half day to discover Dien Bien Phu, we will take some visit to some historical sites to understand more about the Indochina War and learn more about the Dien Bien Phu battle – The last, the most important and most famous battle between the Vietnamese and the French troops. tour to Dien Bien. We will be in Dien Bien at 2.00 PM.

12: Dien Bien – Son La: Distance 160km/ 5h

The road crosses a series of mountain passes and areas of busy Black Thai activity. Children walk to school,men and women working on the field with plenty of buffaloes on the field and the road. Then we come to the beginning of the very long and steep Pha Din pass- one of the most beautiful passes in North Vietnam where at the top we have vast views of the surrounding mountains, then down the other side on very steep sealed road.

Day 13: Son La- Moc Chau: Distance 120km/ 4h

After breakfast we can have small coffee and we ride up to visit French prison,  hear some legend about Vietnamese soldier. Today athe Northern Vietnam motorbike tour is quite easy riding, but the view is very amazing

Mộc Châu: ou can not use words to describe the beautiful plateau, but to use the word “great”! A land of gentle, hospitable, green tea hills,

white silk woven from flowers improve, cup, corn and white flowers blooming plum forest …

All these images will be imprinted in the memories of any public pilgrims come here. Moc Chau as a teenager Northwest, friendly, hospitable and rustic with a sincerity.

Day 14: Moc Chau- Mai Chau: Distance 100 km/4h

Getting out of the valley by riding up and up to higher lands, we will see more villages of the Mong people. Once we get close to Mai  Chau, we’ll make a turn to small quiet road named Hua Tat pass, that is old French-built road with a great view of mountain so you can surely have great motorcycle ride on. We can have some options today for you depend on your ability we can ride on muddy road, big road or off road.

Day 15: Mai Chau – Hanoi (beautiful scene and easy road)

Having said farewell to such friendly family, we return Hanoi. In order to avoid the same roads, we will choose other smaller roads. Some off-road options may be put forth. We promise to make you satisfied. We may use the French 6-way road that is small and narrow. Going through sugarcane and orange valleys, we will reach Hanoi early to end this short-term motorbike tour safely.
